Abstract:
To provide a wire having improved fatigue resistance in every environment where the wire is used.
The stranded wire (10) having improved fatigue characteristics and produced from a shape memory material and/or a superelastic material, such as Ni/Ti or its alloy. Further, the stranded wire (10) may be processed into a coil-like shape along its whole length or its part to form one or more coil springs (14). The stranded and arbitrarily coiled wires (10, 16) are thermally treated to set the stranded structures.
