Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for continuous ethanol production by a multi-tank cell-recycle fermentation process.SOLUTION: In the method for continuous ethanol production by a multi-tank cell-recycle fermentation process, a system for continuous ethanol production by a multi-tank cell-recycle fermentation process is constituted with a multiple number of fermentation tanks provided with a sedimentation container. The method returns yeast fungi to a sedimentation container in a fermentation tank by making use of the characteristics of flocculant yeast and flows the supernatant into the following fermentation tank in the multi-tank system. The method enables to operate the system at a high dilution rate, obstacles growth of bacteria, and more stabilizes the system. Furthermore, the method is not limited to raw materials, and enables to directly produce ethanol from juice of sugar canes.
