PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-tube diverging shield machine which includes child shields 2 in a diverging manner and can excavate an envelope cross-sectional area of each child shield.
SOLUTION: The multi-diverging shield machine is comprised of the plurality of child shields 2 arranged in a line, each with a main cutter disk 4 on a front surface thereof, an outer shell member 3 having an elliptic cross section and enveloping the child shields 2, and rocking cutters 5 arranged on a front surface of the outer shell member 3 at locations outside the main cutter disks 4, for excavating areas which are not excavated by the main cutter disks. Each child shield 2 can be separated from the outer shell member 3 to singly carry out excavation. Further, each rocking cutter 5 has a rocking center between the adjacent main cutter disks 4 in the vicinity of a virtual line connecting both centers of the main cutter disks 4 together, and has cutter spokes 4a extending from the rocking center at least in an outward direction.
