Abstract:
To make an elevator car with passengers in it travel to a refuge floor preferentially and in a shortest time in emergency operation at the time of a fire and the like.SOLUTION: A multi-car elevator comprises: a plurality of cars which can circulate in a hoistway; a passenger detection unit which is provided in each of the cars and detects whether passengers are present in the car or not; a car position/speed detection unit which detects a position and a travel speed of each car in the hoistway; and a control unit that, in an emergency operation mode, determines a first order of travel for a car with passengers therein which is a target of refuge among the plurality of cars so that a time until the car as the target of refuge reaches a refuge floor is minimized on the basis of a detection result from the passenger detection unit and a detection result from the car position/speed detection unit, and controls the traveling of the car as the target of refuge on the basis of the first order of travel.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
