To provide a multicarrier radio communication method and radio communication apparatus in which a high-speed communication can be performed by dynamically selecting a channel to suppress interference while using a plurality of inexpensive radio units small in circuit scale.
The mutually different channels to be used respectively in a plurality of radio units 1, 2 are selected out of channels specified by a carrier frequency and a time slot. As for the selected channels, it is determined whether or not the channels interfere with each other. In the case where it is judged that the channels do not interfere with each other, an available channel is determined on the basis of the channels. In a case where the available channel is determined for a plurality of time slots in a communication frame between the plurality of radio units 1, 2, a communicating party side is notified of information about the available channel.
