Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an error rate characteristic caused by retransmission in a multicarrier communication mode.
SOLUTION: A series converter 104 exchanges upper bits which hardly undergo errors and lower bits which easily undergo errors to be used by a multi-valued modulator 105 during each retransmission. The multi-valued modulator 105 performs multi-valued modulating operation with use of the upper and lower bits exchanged during each transmission. A symbol after subjected to the multi-valued demodulation is interleaved with different interleave patterns during each retransmission and transmitted on the multicarrier via a diffuser 108 and an OFDM transmitter 109.
