Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the influence of deterioration in relaying performance caused by blocking. SOLUTION: A repeater is equipped with multiple IF accommodation parts for line termination which accommodate multiple interfaces(IF) for line termination and an IF for switch connection and includes a local switch for switching among the IFs and is composed of a switch for logical switching connections among the IF accommodation parts for line termination. The local switch is equipped with one or more queues individually as queues storing multicast frames corresponding to a case wherein the multicasting destination of a frame is only the IFs for line termination, a case wherein the destination is the IF for switch connection connected to the switch, a case wherein the destination is both the IFs for line termination and IF for switching connection, and a combination of respective multicasting destinations IFs, and the local switch has a means which decides an enqueing destination from a list of the multicasting destinations added to the frame according to the combination of the multicasting destination IFs and stores the frame.
