CONSTITUTION: After developing the detection mark formed on the electrostatic latent image carrier 12 as the electrostatic latent image by the developing means 18, the developing density data are detected from the detection mark, compared to the appropriate specific value, and decided whether to be within the permitted limit or not. When the developing density data are decided to be out of the allowable limit, the developing density is feed back controlled by adjusting at least one of the developing density control parameter, the value of the developing density control parameter is stored, when the developing density data are decided to be within the allowable limit, and the process concerned with the developing density control parameter is performed basing on the stored value at the time of the multicolor recording.
