Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the color filter which is free from picture element missing, such as clogging, is easily formable to a larger area and has excellent mass productivity by weaving up yarn-like materials or tapes colored to red, green and blue. CONSTITUTION:Polyester resins colored to red, green and blue and an uncolored polyester resin are made into films to form polyester films having 5mum thickness. These films are then slit to 100mum width to form the red, green and blue polyes ter tape 1, 2, 3 and the transparent polyester tape 4. The tapes 1, 2, 3 are dis posed vertically in this order alternately in respectively 640 pieces, total 920 pieces and 1,200 pieces of the transparent tapes are used in a horizontal direc tion. These tapes are then subjected to plain weaving. The woven fabric is molded by a pressure at 80 deg.C to form the multicolor filters of 200mm width and 140mm length. Good color images are obtd. if this color filter is used for a shadow-masked liquid crystal element.
