Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a high quality multicolor image by preventing a phenomenon that a carrier grain is stuck to a previously formed toner image.
CONSTITUTION: In this multicolor recording method, at least, from the second developing process, a two-component developer G composed of toner T and a magnetic carrier C is carried to transport on a developing roll 4a, and a developing bias is applied to the developing roll 4a, so that an electrostatic latent image Z2 on a latent image carrier 1 is developed with the toner, while the surface of the latent image carrier 1 and the two-component developer G carried on the developing roll 4a, are held under a noncontact state, and the ratio of the quantity Dt of the toner stuck to the electrostatic latent image Z2, to the carrying quantity Mt of the toner of the two-component developer G carried on the developing roll 4a, is regulated within a range so as to set the quantity Q of a space charge remaining on the magnetic carrier C, in a carrier nontransfer level L.
