Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the titled novel rubber having improved heat, ozone, and sour gasoline resistance, by radically copolymerizing a cyano-substituted alkyl (meth)acrylate with an alkyl acrylate and diene monomer, etc.
CONSTITUTION: (A) 20W69.5wt% cyano-substituted alkyl (meth)acrylate, e.g. 2- cyanoethyl acrylate, is copolymerized with (B) 30W79.5wt% alkyl acrylate, e.g. ethyl acrylate, (C) 0.5W10wt% diene compound, e.g. an alkylidenenorbornene, and/or dihydrodicyclopentadienyl group-containing ester of (meth)acrylic acid. e.g. dihydrodicyclopentadienyl (meth)acrylate, and if necessary (D) 0W10wt% ethylenically unsaturated monomer, e.g. styrene, in the presence of a radical polymerization catalyst at 0W80°C to give the aimed rubber.
