To provide an organic-inorganic complex compound which is a new organic-inorganic hybrid material capable of expressing the multiplied characteristics of organic groups with an inorganic element and has new functional physiological properties, and to provide a method for producing the organic-inorganic complex compound, by which the organic-inorganic complex compound can easily be produced.

This multiditnensional organic-inorganic complex compound which is (C) a new compound obtained by reacting (A) an inorganic metal compound with (B) a multifunctional organic compound as shown in formula (1), characterized in that the functional organic groups are bound to the inorganic element through covalent bonds. Thereby, the interactions of the organic groups with the inorganic element are ensured on the molecular hybrid, and the formation of the multidimensional structure by the introduction of the multifunctional organic groups gives electronic and optical characteristics due to the characteristic orbit condensation of the bulk product, while holding the new functional physical properties on the bulk product hybrid.
