PURPOSE: To speed up selection and to realize high-precision positioning by a unidirectional stopping mechanism, by allowing the multiform slide of a COM device to rotate in both directions.
CONSTITUTION: A multiform slide device is equipped with a CRT display 11 for the output of a central processing unit (CPU) 10, half-mirror 12, photographic lens 13, picture recording medium 14 such as a microfilm, rotary disk 26 which mounts plural slides 17 and is provided on the opposite side of the half-mirror 12 to the recording medium 14, and light source 16 such as a Xenon lamp. Then, recording from slides is carried out by the slides 17 having various forms and display 11. The rotary disk 26 having the slides 17 rotates in both forward and backward directions and a pawl 32F engage upper and lower stage notches 28F and 28B to position the disk after specific rotation.
