To provide a multifunction peripheral apparatus with ease of use for a user by omitting useless data processing in the apparatus even when a color scan start key is depressed.
The multifunction peripheral apparatus is characterized in to include: a scanner section including monochromatic and color scanner functions; a faxing section having only a monochromatic faxing function; the color scan start key for instructing the scanner section to execute color scanning; a monochromatic scan start key for instructing the scanner section to execute monochromatic scanning; and faxing control section for controlling the operation of the faxing section on the basis of a preset correspondence condition between the color scan start key and the monochromatic faxing function when the faxing by the color scan start key is instructed.
