Abstract:
PURPOSE: To inhibit image defects such as black spots, fogging in the non image area, etc., from being generated and to obtain a high quality image under wide variety of circumstances including high humidity by performing the cleaning of the substrate with etching through using a weak acid and the sealing treatment of pores using hot water.
CONSTITUTION: The photoreceptor comprises the photosensitive layer 2 formed by laminating the charge generating layer 2a and the charge transfer layer 2b on the substrate 1 that comprises the electrically conductive base body 1a consisting of an aluminum based material and the undercoat layer 1b which is formed on the surface of the base body 1a and consists of an aluminum anodic oxide film. In this manufacture of the substrate 1, the conductive base body 1a that consists of an aluminum base material and is dimensionally worked or unworked as required and subjected to surface working is further subjected to defatting cleaning with a cleaning agent to make the base body 1a cleaner and then the cleaned base body 1a is subjected to anodic oxidation. Subsequently, the resulting material is subjected to sealing treatment and washed with hot water to form the anodic oxide film on the base body 1a. In this formation of the anodic oxide film, the defatting cleaning is performed through using a weak acid and the sealing treatment is performed through using hot water.
