Abstract:
To provide a multilayer ceramic capacitor which can prevent degradation of its reliability caused by reduction in a rate of coverage of internal electrode layers.SOLUTION: A multilayer ceramic capacitor according to the present invention comprises: a laminate formed by laminating a plurality of dielectric layers and a plurality of internal electrode layers on top of each other; and a pair of external electrodes which is electrically connected to the internal electrode layers and is formed on one/the other of both end surfaces of the laminate. The laminate has an effective layer part in which a first internal electrode layer faces a second internal electrode layer. Viewing from a first end surface or a second end surface, the effective layer part has an internal effective layer portion and an external effective layer portion. In the effective layer part, the external effective layer portion is located on a first principal surface side, a second principal surface side, a first lateral surface side, and a second lateral surface side. The internal effective layer portion is located inside the external effective layer portion. A rate of coverage A of the first and second internal electrode layers with respect to the dielectric layers located in the external effective layer portion is higher than a rate of coverage B of the first and second internal electrode layers with respect to the dielectric layers located in the internal effective layer portion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
