To provide a coating composition having an advantage which can not be developed by the conventional coating composition.

This method for preparing a multilayered protective coating film having high-level durability and easy removability under the conventional exfoliating conditions comprises a step to apply the first coating composition exhibiting the removability to a base material and a step to apply the second coating composition, which exhibits the high-level durability but does not exhibit immediate removability, onto the coating film of the first coating composition. The second coating composition is preferably based on a polymer giving a coating film having highly cross-linked "non-removability" (under the conventional exfoliating conditions) when a single substance is used. As a result, this multilayer coating composition keeps easy removability as a whole while keeping high-level detergent resistance.
