Abstract:

To provide a multilayer elastic belt having good electric characteristics as a transfer belt and easily ensuring qualities of electric characteristics because a resistivity in each layer can be independently measured.

The multilayer elastic belt for an electrophotographic device is produced by separately manufacturing a first belt comprising at least two layers of a surface layer containing a release material and an elastic layer containing an elastic rubber material, and a second belt comprising a base layer containing a high strength resin material, then laminating the elastic layer side of the first belt with the second belt. The common logarithm V1 of the volume resistivity ( cm) of the first belt when 100 V is applied at 23C and 55% RH and the common logarithm V2 of the volume resistivity ( cm) of the second belt when 100 V is applied at 23C and 55% RH satisfy V1V2.
