PURPOSE: To provide an inexpensive multilayered woven fabric, excellent in voluminous feeling and water holding properties and useful for industrial materials at a low cost by sterically arranging core yarn between two woven fabrics.
CONSTITUTION: The objective multilayered woven fabric has core yarn 7 arranged in the warp yarn direction between two woven fabrics 1 and 4 and is obtained by mutually connecting the woven fabrics with pile yarns 9 and 10 in the warp yarn direction. In this woven fabric, the relative positions of the pairing pile yarns 9 and 10 are alternated for each weaving thereof in the woven fabrics 1 and 4 at a prescribed distance. Core yarn 8 in the weft yarn direction arranged in the upper and lower parts of the core yarn 7 is woven with the pile yarns 9 and 10 at the alternated positions. When trimmed selvadge yarn is used as the core yarns 7 and 8, the multilayered woven fabric having a smooth surface and voluminous feeling is obtained. An expanded resin is filled therein and the resultant filled woven fabric is utilized as a TATAMI padding (a rush mat for Japanese domestic life) or the surface is coated with a resin coating and utilized as a board for inner walls or a roofing tile or a mat material for draining in a geodrain construction method.
