Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute multimedia data processing corresponding to the kind of a program by estimating the kind of contents to which multimedia data including videos belong so as to output it.
SOLUTION: Multimedia data enters an input terminal 101 from a recording medium such as DVD, CD and a hard disk or the information processor of an upper-stage such as a personal computer. A cut detection part 102 always checks the cut of the scene of inputted multimedia data during operation and when the cut of the scene is generated, records the time in a temporarily storing part 103. Then, it is utilized that the commercial break(CM) during present broadcast is normally 15 sec, 30 sec or 1 min. A content kind estimating part 106 observes the time of recent ones of several times to several ten times among past cuts and compares the generating time of some two cuts, e.g. In a case when they are generated at an interval just being the multiple of 15 sec, the part 106 judges the time section to be a CM break and outputs the result from an output terminal 107.
