Title:
MULTIMERS OF ANTIMICROBIAL PEPTIDES
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2015145373
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide multimers of antimicrobial peptides, such as defensin peptides.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a multimer in which peptides derived from defensins (e.g., hBD3) are connected on a linear chain, a peptide multimer branched through two amine groups of amino acid such as lysine and ornithine, and methods of producing them. The multimers inhibit and/or reduce the growth of microorganisms in general, including in a host, and may be formulated into antimicrobial compositions, pharmaceutical compositions, eyedrop compositions, contact lens solutions, compositions for coating medical devices, and the like.
