PURPOSE: To enable volume control in a wide range, by connecting an intermediate part between an intake part and a discharge part inside a cylinder which is at least one compression element among a plurality of compression elements stored in a closed container, selectively to the high/low pressure part of an outside refrigerating cycle through a bypass passage.
CONSTITUTION: Two compression elements are constituted in such a way that rolling pistons 5a, 5b are fitted rotabably to eccentric parts 4a, 4b, installed with mutually shifted phases by 180 degree of a crank shaft 2 rotated by an electrically driven element 1 stored in a closed container 10, and also the rolling pistons 5a, 5b are rotated in respective cylinders 7a, 7b. The compression element on one side including the piston 5b, can be put in rest condition timely by a resting cylinder control system 21. In this occasion, a bypass passage 29 connected to an opening part 28 opened to the intermediate part between the intake part inside the cylinder 7a and the discharge part, is provided on the cylinder 7a serving as the compression element on the other side, and this bypass passage 29 can be connected selectively to the low and high pressure parts in an outside refrigerating cycle by a switching valve (not shown in figure) through a bypass pipe 32.
