PURPOSE: To obtain a multiple cylinder type drier of a paper making machine reduced in the possibility of cutting of a wet sheet, capable of readily discharging the cut sheet even if cutting occurs and constituted so as to bring the both sides of the sheet into contact with a drier cylinder.

CONSTITUTION: A dryer cylinder group forms a folding part in nearly central lower part and separated into the first cylinder group and the second cylinder group based on the folding part and in the first cylinder group, one face of a wet sheet is hung so as to come into contact with the drier cylinder and in the second cylinder group, other face of the sheet is hung so as to come into contact with the drier cylinder and a guide roll of canvas which guides continuing travel of the sheet in the separated part is swingably provided.
