To provide a multiple disc clutch assembly, eliminating the need for gap adjustment for a clutch plate or others during assembly.

A clutch cylinder 56 is formed separately from a transfer case 17 and a multiple disc clutch 49 and its peripheral parts are integrally assembled on a rear wheel output shaft 15 to form the clutch assembly. The clutch plate 50 of the multiple disc clutch 49 is connected to a fastening member 54 and thrust via a bearing 62 to the axial direction by a clutch piston 51. The clutch piston 51 is arranged in the clutch cylinder 56 and a bearing 53 is held in the clutch cylinder 56 for supporting the rear wheel output shaft 15. The clutch assembly is subjected to gap adjustment such as clearance adjustment for the clutch plate 50 during assembly, eliminating the need for adjusting a shim during assembling the case.
