Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiple flow passage type rotary joint capable of excellently letting flow plural different kinds of fluid or the same kind of fluid.
SOLUTION: First connection spaces 51, 52 and 53 sealed by mechanical seals 31, 32, 33 and 34 and second connection spaces 6 and 6 sealed by the mechanical seals 31 and 34 and elastic seals 4 and 4 are formed between a joint main body 1 and a rotating body 2. In both of the bodies 1 and 2, a series of fluid passages 7 and 8 passing among each of the connection spaces 51, 52, 53 and 6 are formed. Each mechanical seal 31, 32, 33 and 34 is an end face contact type and is constituted into a balance seal having a balance ratioκ of 0≤κ≤1. Each elastic seal 4 is sectionally U-shaped and is engaged and fixed to one of opposed peripheral surface parts in a state that an annular groove 31 is opened between inner and outer peripheral lip parts 29 and 30 in a space of higher pressure of the second connection space 6 and the adjacent space 27.
