Title:
MULTIPLE OPTICAL FIBER INSPECTION DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3069244
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a multiple optical fiber inspection device which can detect a wrongly arranged optical fiber in many optical fibers arranged in parallel with each other.
CONSTITUTION: A light incident means 45 is connected to the incident end side of a multiple optical fiber cable 18 constituted by arranging collectively bundled multiple optical fibers 21 in parallel with each other and an emission-side fiber number detecting device 46 is connected to the emitting end side of the cable 18. The arranging order of the fibers 21 on the emitting end side is detected by successively making light from the means 45 is made to enter the fibers 21 from optical fibers 23 on the incident end side and fetching the light emitted from optical fibers 24 on the emitting end side to the device 46. A fiber number comparing/discriminating device 41 checks the arranging order of the fibers 21 by comparing the arranging order of the fibers 21 on the emitting end side with the incident order of the light made to enter the fibers 21 by the means 45 and, when the arranging order is wrong, outputs an arranging order error signal. In addition, an OTDR 1 is provided to the means 45 so as to measure the light loss of the fibers 21 simultaneously with the arranging order inspection.
