To provide a multiple oxide coated metal powder in which a surface of a metal powder is uniformly coated with a multiple oxide, and to provide a laminated ceramic electronic component which is formed using a conductive paste containing the multiple oxide coated metal powder and in which the coverage of an inner conductor is high.
In a first process, to a metal powder slurry which makes an organic solvent disperse a metal powder, a metal alkoxide containing a group IV metallic element (or a group II metallic element) is added, then pure water is added, and a coated metal powder in which at least a part of the metal powder surface is coated with an oxide of the group IV metal is formed, in a second process, further, to the metal powder slurry, a compound containing a group II metallic element (or group IV metallic element) which forms a multiple oxide with a metal oxide which composes a coating layer of the coated metal powder is added to be made to react with a metal oxide which coats a metal powder, and to form a multiple oxide, and thereby the multiple oxide coated metal powder in which a surface is coated by a multiple oxide is obtained.
