To provide a multiple-rotor type electric motor that can achieve high-speed rotation, miniaturization, cost reduction and maintenance free by combining a plurality of motor units integrally and driving them by a single power supply unit.
A multiple-rotor type electric motor has: a stator 2; a first rotor 3; a second rotor 4; an induction type first motor unit 5 configured by a first part 55 on the second rotor side and a first element 51 on the first rotor side; a second motor unit 6 configured by a second part 65 on the first rotor side and a second element 61 on the stator side; a third motor unit 7 configured by a third element 71 on the first rotor side electrically connected to the first element, and a third part 75 on the stator side; and a power supply unit 8. When an AC current is energized to the second element, the second motor unit rotates and drives the first rotor, and the third motor unit serves as a power generator to induce an AC voltage to the third element. Then, the AC voltage is applied to the first element, and the first motor unit rotates and drives the second rotor in the same rotation direction as the first rotor.
