Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiplexer that multiplexes transport streams(TS) with a dummy packet attached thereto, in matching with a transmission frame configuration of digital satellite broadcasting.
SOLUTION: A write address counter 12 writes a received TS to a memory 13 after the detection of a packet synchronizing signal, and the transport stream which are stored in the memory 13 are read, on the basis of an address instruction of an address counter 16 up to a data packet up to immediately before the head of a first data packet in succession to the dummy packet from a time, when a lapse of one frame is detected from the detection of the packet synchronizing signal. After the detection of all dummy packets in a plurality of the streams, the transport streams stored in the memory 13 from the head of the first data packet are read, according to the address instruction of the counter 16, on the basis of TS transmission mode information and multiplexed with the data packets read precedingly.
