Abstract:

To provide a multiplexing apparatus which can determine an automatic meter reading narrow band or an automatic meter reading wide band codec class.

In the multiplexing apparatus, automatic meter reading media data are inputted to data analyzers 103, 104, and header information and automatic meter reading codec information including the automatic meter reading narrow band or automatic meter reading wide band codec class is detected from the data. In a data generator 107, moving picture expert group 4 media data are formed, moving picture expert group 4 header information including automatic meter reading codec information formed and set by a header generator 105 and an automatic meter reader information setter 106 is added to the moving picture expert group 4 media data in a multiplexer 108, multiplexed and outputted.
