To provide a double pole battery in which an electrolyte is reliably confined in different cells and which has high rated voltage and high energy density.
The double pole battery includes: three electrochemical cells stacked along a longitudinal axis (X), each cell consisting of an anode, a cathode, and the electrolyte placed between the anode and the cathode; current collector plates (B, C), each connecting one anode of a cell, and the cathode of an adjacent cell; a current collector plate (A) contacting into with the anode of the cell located a first longitudinal end of a stack; a current collector plate (D) coming into contact with the cathode located at a second longitudinal end of the stack; electrolyte-proof lateral walls (2.4, 4.4, 6.4) surrounding each cell between each pair of successive collector plates (A, B, C, D). The lateral walls (2.4, 4.4, 6.4) of two adjacent cells are deviated from each other in the lateral direction with respect to the longitudinal axis (X), so as not to be overlapped each other.
