PURPOSE: To carry out continuously a plurality of processing steps with a single apparatus and produce highly accurate and high-quality formed articles by providing additionally a plurality of rams to a single driving power source that has a specific torque and allowing each ram to generate a required clamping force.
CONSTITUTION: Platens 17a, 17b, 17c are vertically moved with the rotational power of a servomotor 14. Each of these platens and each of rams 20a, 20b, 20c are supported at a predetermined interval by each of connecting shafts 18a, 18b, 18c for power transmission, and vertical movement transmitted to each platen is directly transmitted to each ram. Punches 21a, 21b, 21c disposed on the bottoms of the rams are lowered at an appropriate speed down to the top faces of lower dies 23a, 23b, 23c, on each of which the work 25 on a feed rail 24 is set in advance, and, after punching the work 25 at an appropriate time, the punches are elevated to carry out the pressing. In this case, resilient members having pressure inertia corresponding to respectively necessary clamping forces are provided among the platens 17a, 17b, 17c and the connecting shafts 18a, 18b, 18c; more particularly, the first ram 20a is provided with springs 19a for a heavy load, and the second ram 20b and the third ram 20c with springs 19b, 19c for a light load, respectively, whereby the forming is carried out with a necessary clamping force.
