PURPOSE: To provide a new multistrike ribbon for high speed typewriter, word processor or the like with a high image density and a better multistriking property by employing a linseed oil copolymer as the component of an ink layer.
CONSTITUTION: For example, a PVC resin, a vinyl acetate resin, an acrylic resin or the like used as the resin component of an ink layer is mixed with a linseed oil copolymer and/or oil incompatible with said resin (e.g., castor oil, beef tallow and mineral oil), a coloring agent and an organic solvent. Then, after dispersed with a ball mill or the like, the mixture is applied and dried on a film base to obtain a ribbon as expected. Otherwise, if necessary, an adhesive such as polyester based one can be provided on the film base beforehand and then the ink layer is placed thereon.
