In the multiwindow display system which simultaneously displays a plurality of the windows on the display, a reference display position (asterisk) displaying the activated window on the display is previously decided. When the operator designates the window which is desired to be activated (window (A), for example), the window which is desired to be activated can be moved to the reference display position.
