Title:
MUSE DECODER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH06165133
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain an extremely fine still picture by compensating motion in both vertical and horizontal directions especially also at the time of inter-field interpolation in addition to inter-frame interpolation in respect of a MUSE decoder for demodulating a MUSE signal to be a band-compressed signal to its original wide band television signal.

CONSTITUTION: Vertical motion compensation for inter-field interpolation is executed by increasing/decreasing a delay variable in a field memory 15 in each line by means of a vertical motion vector and controlling the total delay variable of the delay variable of the memory 15 and that of a delay 20. Consequently motion compensation is executed by allowing the vertical phase of interpolation data (output of a coefficient unit 24) to be a signal in the just preceding field to coincide with the vertical phase of a current field signal. A selector 25 executes inter-field interpolation by using two signals whose phases coincide with each other.
