The musical performance controller of this embodiment generates accompaniment and produces sound based on code information created beforehand. If the user input musical performance sound using a keyboard, the controller produces sound after converting the pitch of the musical performance sound to a pitch matched with the code information being supplied. Since a conventional musical performance controller is not configured to notify the user of code change timing, the user does not know at which timing the musical performance sound to the next code information to be supplied should be inputted, so that the user sometimes has not been able to input the musical performance sound at appropriate timing. In the musical performance controller in this embodiment therefore, the user is supported so as to be able to input musical performance sound always at appropriate timing by visually expressing the code change timing to the user.
