Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To faithfully express timbre variation by various playing styles characteristic of natural musical instruments.
SOLUTION: Respective data of C playing information are read out, one by one, to perform timing decoding, and one of event data and playing style code data is read out to generate an event or playing style code. In this playing style code, an automatically decided (or manually specified) playing style, a specific event giving this playing style, various characteristic parameters, and the number of beats for which this playing style is continued are written, the respective data are read out and stored in a buffer, and an event corresponding to the specific event stored in the buffer among ungenerated events is searched for and given a specific mark. When a generated event is the specified event given the mark, the sound source control is not performed by the specific event, but so carried out as to generate a musical sound having musical sound variation characteristics such as timbre variation, pitch variation, amplitude variation, etc., according to the information of the specific event and the playing style, etc., stored in the buffer.
