Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a musical sound generator and a storage device which are capable of accurately detecting a sound volume level of musical sound being generated, and exactly control the musical sound according to the detected sound volume level.
SOLUTION: Waveform data either before or after it passes through a tone color filter part 154 are selected by a selection part A157, and supplied to a peak extraction part 158 to extract a sound volume envelope. A sound volume control envelope either before or after sound volume data VOL are synthesized is selected by a selection part B159 and supplied to a synthesis part B160. The sound volume envelope extracted by the peak extraction part 158 is also supplied to the synthesis part B160, and both envelope values are synthesized by the synthesis part B160 and written in a sound source register 150. The result of this synthesis is read out by a CPU as an actual sound volume level of the musical sound being generated from a waveform memory sound source 15 and used for various musical sound control.
