Abstract:
To provide a mutant polyhydroxyalkanoic acid (PHA) synthase that realizes the production of PHA copolymers with a high or low 3-hydroxyhexanoic acid (3HH) ratio while maintaining PHA productivity.SOLUTION: Provided is a mutant polyhydroxyalkanoic acid synthase that shows 85% or more sequence identity with the amino acid sequence shown in a specific sequence and has an amino acid sequence containing one or more of the following mutations (a) to (c): (a) a mutation in which serine at position 389 from the N-terminus of the amino acid sequence shown in a specific sequence is substituted with an amino acid other than serine; (b) a mutation in which leucine at position 436 from the N-terminus of the amino acid sequence shown in a specific sequence is substituted with an amino acid other than leucine; and (c) a mutation in which 11 to 19 amino acid residues are deleted from the C-terminus of the amino acid sequence shown in a specific sequence.SELECTED DRAWING: None
