Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a novel compound useful as a monomer for a polymer or copolymer excellent in antithrombotic effect and cell growth activity and suitably serving as a medical material.
CONSTITUTION: The compound of formula (R is alkyl, aryl or aralkyl), e.g. N-(2-hydroxyethyl)-N-ethylacrylamide. The compound of formula is obtained by silylating N-substituted ethanolamine of the formula R-NHCH2CH2OH to O-silylated 2-substituted ethanolamine, reacting the obtained amine with an acryloyl halide and finally desilylating by acid hydrolysis.
