Title:
NAIL IN SHANK PULPA FITTED TO CROSS SECTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04221548
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a tibial pulp internal nail which has a high torsional stability, particularly, in the spongy part on proximal side of the tibia and ensures the optimum fitting to the geometric form of the pulp cavity in the cortical part on distal side of the tibia as much as possible. CONSTITUTION: This tibial pulp internal nail for treatment of leg fractures of all symptoms has a front half part 1, a rear half part 2, a proximal end part 3 and a distal end part 4, and the vertical axes 5, 6 of the two end parts 3, 4 form an angle of 9 deg. by the front and rear flat surfaces. The proximal end part 3 has a substantially square cross section 7 as the whole in which both the front half part 1 and the rear half part 2 are rectangular. On the other hand, the distal end part 4 has a cross section 8 in which the front half part 1 is substantially triangle, and the rear half part 2 are substantially semicircular. The special structure of this tibial pulp internal nail provides a high torsional stability of the spongy part on proximal side of the tibia, and also the optimum fitting to the geometric shape of the pulp cavity in the cortical part on distal side of the tibia as much as possible.
