Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a DASD system capable of easily restoring data when the error, the erasing etc. of the data are generated at not more than two DASDs in the array of DASD consisting of M-number.
CONSTITUTION: This method and means generates the block array of (M-1)*M individually from the data block of (M-1)*(M-2)with respect to a data array in a row priority order and a diagonal priority order by using a non-recursive simple parity coding. M is a prime number and a diagonal is taken by a toroidal topology. The parity value of each array diagonal line is in the same mode (odd or even number) of that of a main diagonal as reference and the parity mode of each line is an even number.
