PURPOSE: To obtain a decorative laminate in which a finely stippled feeling is hardly deteriorated if its surface is worn and its design characteristics are kept for a long time.
CONSTITUTION: In a decorative laminate provided with decorative paper, decorative paper containing a substance imparting a finely stippled feeling is used. The substance imparting a finely stippled feeling in use exhibits the fine stipple- like design characteristics by being contained in the decorative paper, and the finely stippled feeling is further increased when the decorative paper is processed to a decorative laminate. As such a substance, a pigment having an average particle diameter of 20-100μm and a colored fiber processed to powder having a maximum dimension of 5-400μm are exemplified. One or more of these substances are appropriately selected, depending on the purpose and the desired design characteristics. The pigment has a particle diameter larger than that of a pigment normally used for coating or the like. Because a fiber colored with a dye has a weakness in weatherability, a fiber which can be originally colored with a pigment is preferably used as the colored fiber. For example, an originally colored rayon is exemplified.
