PURPOSE: To obtain a reinforcing cord capable of providing hoses which are produced by reinforcement with the cord and have excellent durability, fatigue resistance and quality reproducibility because of lightweight, flexibility and excellent pressure resistance.

CONSTITUTION: This polyvinyl alcohol-based reinforcing cord for pressure hoses is the reinforcing cord for pressure hoses comprising polyvinyl alcohol yarn. The yarn has characteristics of ≥2,000 degree of polymerization, ≥150g/d initial modulus of elasticity, ≥11.0g/d tensile strength, 0.5-3.0% intermediate elongation and 0.2-1.4% dry heat shrinkage percentage. The cord is an untwisted cord or a twisted cord having ≤1,000 twist multiplier.
