Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a room-temperature curable compsn. which cures quickly esp. at a low temp. by compounding a polymer having a hydrolyzable silicon group with a specific organotin compd. as a cure catalyst.

CONSTITUTION: 100 pts.wt. polymer having at least one hydrolyzable silicon group in the molecule is compounded with 0.01-10 pts.wt. organotin compd. of the formula (wherein R1 and R2 are each a 1-20C monovalent hydrocarbon group; Y and Z are each a 1-10C alkoxy group or a monovalent org. group having a part capable of forming a coordinate bond with Sn in the molecule; and n is 0-10) as a cure catalyst to give the objective compsn. The polymer pref. has a main chain comprising a polyoxyalkylene and is prepd. by introducing hydrolyzable silicon groups into molecular terminals of a polyoxyalkylene compd. having terminal functional groups.
