PURPOSE: To provide an optical system supporting device having a spring member which is laminated and bent, has good bending accuracy and changes less with the lapse of time and a process for production of the spring member to be used in this device.

CONSTITUTION: The spring member 3 drivably supporting an objective lens holds a damper 39 between a metallic sprig 38 of the first spring material and a metallic spring 37 of a second spring material. The second spring material 37 is so formed as to lower the rigidity in a bent part 33d and the first sprig material 38 is so formed as not to lower the rigidity in the bent part 33d. The accuracy of the bent part 33d is improved and the rigidity of the bent part 33d is maintained.
