PURPOSE: To reduce the assembly man-hours and to prevent the service life of the fixing roller from being short.

CONSTITUTION: This fixing device for the electrophotographic type printer is constituted from felt 20 inpregnated with oil for coating the fixing roller 1 which is moved in cooperation with a pressure roller 4 and a supporting member 21 where this felt is fixed and a cleaner 2 disposed extended along the fixing device 1 is provided. Furthermore, a box body 3 provided with a holding part 30 where a cleaner 2 is held attachably and detachably and bringing the felt 20 of the cleaner 2 into a pressurized contact with the fixing roller 1 is provided. The box body 3 is provided with an opening part 31 which makes the fixing roller 1 and the felt 20 come into contact with each other. Therefore, the cleaner 2 can be uniformly pressurized to the fixing roller 1 without providing a special member such as a spring.
