PURPOSE: To report the reason why polling transmission is disbaled to a call originating station by providing means to transmit a polling transmission disabling report original.

CONSTITUTION: A key matrix 51 is composed of a transmission key 52 for instructing the reading of original images set on an original tray 22, conversion of them into facsimile signals for transmission, a stop key 53 for instructing the stop of a read processing, transmission processing and reception processing, a ten-key 54 for telephone set composed of figure keys from '0' to '9', asterisk key '*' and sharp key '#' and used for setting the facsimile number of the communicating party side, a density switching key 55, and a concentration switching key 56. Further, a polling key 57 is provided for setting a polling mode, and a polling disable report key 59 is provided for setting a polling disable report mode. When polling is disabled, the report showing the reason is transmitted to the polling call originating station.
