Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a driving controller for an electric vehicle capable of restricting the rise in terminal voltage of a motor and of maintaining the terminal voltage below the allowable voltage of a motor driving equipment without performing field weakening control during traveling in a neutral range.

CONSTITUTION: When revolutions judging means 16c judge that the terminal voltage of a motor 13 is higher than the maximum revolutions NB which create a counter electromotive force not exceeding the allowable voltage of a motor driving equipment and moreover range detecting means 16b detect a neutral range, a speed change gear 14 is shift-up controlled by shift-up control means 16e in such a manner that the revolutions of the motor become lower than the maximum revolutions NB. And when the revolutions of the motor becomes lower than the maximum revolutions NB, the field weakening control is stopped by the field weakening control stop means 16d and the power consumption in the neutral range can be reduced.
