PURPOSE: To allow extension parties talking with each other to recognize the arrival of an incoming call from an external line during the extension talking between slave sets, to allow them to confirm the extension opposite party and to allow them to decide whether or not they are to reply the external line incoming call.
CONSTITUTION: A CPU 9 sets an automatic answering circuit 4 to be in the operating state when an extension talking is started between slave sets A and B, and when the arrival of an external line call is detected by a bell incoming call detection circuit 3 during the extension talking between the slave sets, a beep tone generating circuit 10 informs the arrival of the external line call to all the slave sets A, B. On the other hand, the monitoring of a talking content of the external line opposite party is attained by the automatic reply in the automatic answering mode by the automatic answering circuit 4 based on a request from any of the slave sets A, B while an inter-slave set speech channel is in use in the inter-slave set talking state. Furthermore, it is controlled that the return to the inter-slave set extension talking or the connection to the external line call is selected in the external line call monitoring state without revising the speech channel used so far.
